2014 Korean Culture Awareness Program för högstadie- och gymnasieelever – FÖRLÄNGD ANMÄLNINGSTID

Vi har fått information om ett program särskilt utformat för högstadie- och gymnasieelever av koreanskt ursprung som vill resa till Korea i sommar och lära sig mer om sitt koreanska arv. Mer information finns nedan och vid intresse ska ifylld anmälningsblankett skickas till info[a]akf.nu senast slutet av april så vidarebefordrar vi anmälan till Lee, Young Nan som är ordförande för Koreanska skolan.

Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education is hosting a Korea visitation program for overseas middle and high school students of Korean descent. The program aims to encourage its participants to learn about their Korean ethnic identity and global relations through various Korean cultural activities. We hope that many students participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience and learn more about their Korean heritage.

Goals: Participants will develop their Korean identity by gaining a deeper understanding of
Korean culture and global relations through various activities and experiences.

Dates: 15 juni – 25 juni (10 nätter, 11 dagar)

Who: Middle and high school students of Korean descent and multiethnic (including
Korean) background

Costs: Round-trip airplane ticket (all other travel expenses will be covered by the
Chungbuk Office of Education)
Itinerary: On-site school visits, Hangeul Appreciation Center, Historical Sites Tour,
National Museum of Korea and other various museums, DMZ Tour, amusement park, etc.
Documents: Application, copies of passport (pages with picture and visa)

Stipendium till EWHA University sommarsprå​kskola (Internati​onal Co-Ed Summer College)

Hej!
 
Nu har det åter blivit dags för dig som är adopterad och studerande vid högskola eller universitet och som är intresserad av en månads studier i Seoul i sommar att ansöka om The Korean Adoptee Fellowship at Ewha (KAFE)-stipendium till Ewha Womans University International Co-Ed Summer College. Stipendiet som erbjuds två personer omfattar anmälnings- och kursavgiften till sommarprogrammet (session I). Programmet har funnits under flera år och det är möjligt att välja olika typer av kurser om bland annat Korea och Asien såväl som det koreanska språket.

Följande gäller för ansökan:
Full tuition and application fee support for 2 students (Session I only)
The Korean Adoptee Fellowship at Ewha (KAFE) assists overseas Korean adopted students in learning about their motherland through academic study and cross-cultural experiences. Korean adoptee students are eligible to apply.
 
Required documents:
1) Completed application form
2) Copy of college transcript
3) Personal essay (in free format)
4) Copy of passport
5) 1 letter of recommendation by a major course Professor at home university
6) Proof of adoption

AKF (SWEDEN) 25TH ANNIVERSARY AND IKAA MINI-GATHERING

Adopterade Koreaners Förening (AKF) or Association of Korean Adoptees in Sweden is the oldest lasting Korean adoptee organization in the world! Founded in 1986, AKF will be celebrating it’s milestone 25th Anniversary this year by hosting an IKAA International Mini-Gathering in Stockholm!

The members of AKF welcome you to a weekend in beautiful Stockholm. Explore and enjoy the world of Scandinavian Korean adoptees.
The weather is supposed to be wonderful in August, so come join us for an amazing weekend where, in addition to exploring Stockholm, you can catch up with friends you met at the IKAA Gathering 2010 and make new friends!

Programming will be held at the Finlandic Institute in downtown Stockholm and tentatively includes: Networking, Sessions, Presentations, Workshops, Korean cultural explorations, Adoptee experiences, Exploring the future of the Korean adoptee community, Sightseeing activities, and of course, good food and company!

AKF is also planning informal evening social activities with their members for those of you who will be arriving in the week leading up to IKAA Mini-Gathering.
